Ashton Butler

Ashton earned her law degree (with Great Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan, where she was the Valedictorian of her graduating class. Ashton’s law school awards and scholarships include the David C. Kyle Memorial Scholarship, the Marj Benson Leadership Award, the Nasser Scholarship, a University of Saskatchewan Scholarship and an Upper Year Juris Doctor Academic Achievement Scholarship. Ashton served on the Board of Editors for the Saskatchewan Law Review and competed in the Jessup International Law Moot, the Hockey Arbitration Competition of Canada, the Canadian National Negotiation Competition and the International Chamber of Commerce Mediation Competition held in Paris, France. Ashton was also on the executive of the Law Students’ Association, acting as Vice President Academic, was a student member on the College of Law Admissions Committee, worked as a Research Assistant in the area of litigation risk analysis and volunteered at Community Legal Assistance Services for Saskatoon Inner City. Prior to law school, Ashton worked for the Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation. Ashton pursued her undergraduate studies at the University of Victoria where she earned a Bachelor of Science with a major in Biology and a minor in Business. In her free time, Ashton enjoys travelling, golfing, attending country music concerts and spending time in the mountains.
