BD&P Associate Named to Lexpert’s 2011 Leading Lawyers Under 40

BD&P extends congratulations to David Grout on his selection as one of Lexpert's 2011 Rising Stars – David has been named one of Lexpert's Leading Lawyers Under 40 in Canada. The awards presentation was held in Toronto on November 30, 2011. 

David, who earned a Bachelor of Laws from of the University of Alberta in 2002, practices in the areas of Aviation, Banking and Commercial Transactions.

David has acted as lead counsel in numerous transactions involving both domestic and international elements, including lead commercial counsel to a major utility infrastructure company in connection with the implementation of a year-long competitive procurement process to select a new EPC/EPCM provider to complete upwards of $2 billion of construction work, lead counsel to an international aircraft leasing company based out of California with respect to the lease of Boeing 737 aircraft to a Canadian-based airline and lead counsel to CWC Well Services Corp. in its recent acquisition of the service rig division of Trinidad Drilling, valued at $38,000,000 and in excess of 150 employees.

David plays a key leadership role as a senior associate on complex commercial transactions, working with partners and coordinating and supervising junior associates.  

David has continuously maintained an interest and involvement in various community and pro bono activities. He is an executive member of the Canadian Bar Association Business Subsection - Southern Alberta and has also recently become a director of the Missing Children's Society of Canada. David has provided pro bono services to several non-profit societies and organizations in Calgary, including the Bow River Bruins Hockey Association, EnCorps Dance Society and the Airdrie and District Humane Society. David is also a member of the steering and advisory committee for the Calgary Branch of the University of Alberta Alumni Association. David has been an integral member of BD&P's student recruitment efforts for several years, conducting hundreds of student interviews across the country.
