BD&P Volunteers at the Calgary Drop-In Centre

Articling student Brianna Guenther has led an initiative in which a group of BD&P lawyers, students and staff attend at the Drop-In Centre on alternate Wednesday mornings from 6:45 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. to serve breakfast to Calgary‚Äôs less fortunate.

The typical breakfast served to the 600-800 guests of the Drop-In Centre is cereal, but thanks to the personal generosity of  BD&P partner John Brussa, the guests are now being treated to a hot breakfast of sausage, eggs and fruit once per week for an entire year. The guests are visibly delighted to be starting their day with a hot and nutritious meal.

Upon receiving a recent request for much needed socks for the Drop-In guests, BD&P staff quickly pulled together and bought 650 pairs of new socks.

Thanks to Brianna for her initiative, to John for his impressive generosity and to all the volunteers who are able to continue to make this endeavour a success.

Our volunteers are now serving in style with newly acquired BD&P aprons seen in the photograph below.
