Heather Maxted

Heather is an Associate and returned to article at BD&P after summering with the firm in 2016. She is originally from Winnipeg, and earned her law degree at the University of Manitoba. In her third year of law school, Heather was elected President of the Manitoba Law Students' Association, and was appointed to the University of Manitoba's Board of Governors. She also received the Wendy Hansen Memorial Scholarship for exceptional involvement in university life. Throughout law school, Heather volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada, the Canadian Journal of Human Rights and the Canadian Cancer Society. She also competed in the Davies Corporate/Securities Law Moot in Toronto in 2018. Heather earned her Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) at the Asper School of Business, with a double major in Marketing and International Business. During her undergrad she also went on an exchange to Vallendar, Germany. Heather was a competitive curler for many years. She was an Academic All-Canadian and won a variety of titles in Junior's, Women's, University, Mixed and Mixed Doubles play. In the summer after law school, she travelled to Europe and became a registered yoga teacher. Outside of the office, Heather enjoys reading, practicing yoga and spending time with dogs.
