Ifeoma Okaro

Ify earned her law degrees from the University of Aberdeen, United Kingdom (Masters in Oil and Gas Law), where she graduated with a distinction, and the University of Benin, Nigeria (LLB). During her time in law school, she represented her team at the criminal law moot trial and played in the school's soccer team.

Prior to relocating to Canada, she acted as company secretary to a real estate firm where she advised on various contract and regulatory issues. She was a member of the Nigerian Bar Association section on Business Law.

Ify is an active member of her community and volunteers with the University of Calgary's Canadian Institute of Resources Law as an editor and Pro bono law Alberta in the Queen's Bench Amicus Program.

In her free time, Ify enjoys gardening, dancing and playing soccer with her kids.
