Lexpert Zenith Awards 2012 Recognize James S. Palmer and W. Kenneth Moore

In October 2012, the Lexpert Zenith Awards honoured James S. Palmer, C.M., A.O.E, Q.C. and The Honourable Kenneth Moore, C.M., Q.C., LLD. The Zenith Awards honour lawyers who have been change-agents for 40 or more years for their clients, firms, companies, departments, faculties, profession, colleagues and communities.

Lexpert had this to say of Mr. Palmer:

'The Globe and Mail said of Jim Palmer: "He built a great law firm, mentored a generation of business leaders and is still leaving a mark on Calgary philanthropy. At the helm of Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer, he also played a key role in the development of Alberta's oil & gas sector. An icon in the Alberta business community, Palmer's actually a transplanted Maritimer whose great grandfather was a Father of Confederation in P.E.I."

And of The Honourable W. Kenneth Moore:

"Kenneth Moore was appointed as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Alberta Trial Division in 1972 and sworn in as Chief Justice of the court of Queen's Bench of Alberta in 1984, where he served until 2000, authorizing a long string of reported decisions on a variety of civil cases. A decorated officer in the Royal Canadian Navy, he has been active in the Sharing Our Military Heritage campaign to establish a centre for combining Navy, Army and Air Force Museums."

BD&P is proud of both these distinguished gentlemen who serve as inspiration and mentors to many.
