Richard Gardner

Richard is a graduate of the International Energy Lawyers Program where he received a law degree from both the University of Calgary Faculty of Law and the University of Houston. Richard's law school awards and scholarships include scholarships from the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators, Energy & Mineral Law Foundation, Gulf Coast Power Association, Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation, and second place winner of the America Bar Association's Energy Law Student Writing Competition. During law school, Richard served as Editor-in-Chief of the Alberta Law Review, President of the International Law Society, and Vice President of the Energy and Environmental Law Society. While in law school, Richard worked with a Canadian pipeline company, U.S. oil and gas company, and Houston-based oil and gas firm. Before attending law school, Richard received an undergraduate degree in Government and minor in Spanish from the University of Texas at Austin. When not working, Richard enjoys cheering on the Texas Longhorns football team, fly fishing, skiing, and hiking.
