Three litigation lawyers join the BD&P partnership
We are delighted to announce that lawyers Susan Fader, Julia Lisztwan and Joanne Luu have joined the Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP partnership, effective February 1, 2021.
Susan Fader joined BD&P in 2012 as an articling student and later accepted a position in BD&P's litigation group. Susan advises clients in complex commercial disputes, with a specific focus on construction, energy and labour law matters. Susan has acted as counsel in domestic and international arbitrations and appeared before all levels of court in Alberta.
Julia Lisztwan joined BD&P in 2016 after practicing at a New York law firm and clerking at the Calgary Court of Queen's Bench and United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Julia's practice focuses on complex, high-stakes commercial disputes, with matters before all levels of court in Alberta, the New York Appellate Division and the US Supreme Court.
Joanne Luu joined BD&P in 2012 as an articling student following her clerkship with the Alberta Court of Appeal. She has since developed a broad commercial litigation and domestic and international arbitration practice focusing on complex disputes. She has appeared at all levels of court in Alberta, at the Alberta Securities Commission and before arbitration tribunals seated in Canada and abroad. Joanne has recently been recognized as a leader in her field in Who's Who Legal, The Legal 500 and Best Lawyers Canada.
"We're pleased to have Susan, Julia and Joanne join the partnership", said Managing Partner, Grant Zawalsky. "All three lawyers were associates with the firm for a number of years and it's been rewarding to see their expertise grow during that time. These appointments further strengthens the litigation team and reflect the lawyers' commitment to providing excellent legal advice to their clients."
