BD&P is pleased to have concluded its 10th Annual PUT THE BOOTS TO HUNGER™ Chuckwagon campaign this Stampede, launched by our contribution of $105,000. The campaign is a partnership between BD&P and the Calgary Food Bank to raise funds and encourage the donation of food, with the hope that all Calgarians who rely on the Food Bank can do so; “because hunger doesn’t take a summer break!” The demand for the Food Bank’s services is constant, yet donations are focused around the year-end holiday season. It is our goal to help provide the Food Bank with the quality, emergency food it needs all year round to ensure those needing to use the service have access to it.
We extend a heartfelt thanks to all of our clients, friends, community partners and members of the general public for contributing to the success of the 2018 BD&P PUT THE BOOTS TO HUNGER™ campaign, which raised nearly $269,000 in food and funds.
At BD&P we are committed to continuing to recognize the true "Stampede Spirit" of community support which is afforded by the PUT THE BOOTS TO HUNGER campaign. The initiative offers the Calgary Food Bank a unique and valuable opportunity to raise awareness in our community and to inspire individuals, community groups and corporations.
Each year we purchase a Chuckwagon Tarp and donate it to the Food Bank to use in a unique fundraising initiative where sponsors purchase the tarp for use on one of the ten days of Stampede. Please consider a donation to the Calgary Food Bank in support of the PUT THE BOOTS TO HUNGER™ campaign at any time of year. In so doing, you will help raise awareness and funds for a crucial organization upon which far too many Calgarians have to rely. The majority of those using the service for emergency food hampers continue to be the working poor. Last year the Food Bank impacted the lives of over 184,000 people from across of the city, with approximately 40% of the clients being children.

Since its inception in 2008, PUT THE BOOTS TO HUNGER™ has raised almost $4.5 million dollars towards a hunger-free community. Thank you to all of our tarp sponsors, the Calgary Food Bank staff and volunteers, all donors and everyone else who helped make this such a successful campaign!
