Summer student
Austin grew up in Calgary and has been involved in competitive athletics for much of his life, including soccer, hockey, and football. He completed a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Criminal Justice at Mount Royal University in 2025 and is currently attending law school at the University of Alberta. During his undergraduate studies, Austin worked as an Outside Services Manager at a golf course, where he spent several summers working throughout his degree.
While at Mount Royal University, Austin completed an undergraduate thesis that was later published in the Mount Royal University Open Access Repository, titled CBE Liability for Unsafe School Design: Assessing Judicial CPTED Precedent and Developing a Systematic Test for OLA Adjudication.
Outside of academics, Austin enjoys staying active through golf, fishing, and hiking, and spends much of his summers on the golf course. He also enjoys playing guitar and alto saxophone and has a passion for travel. After high school, Austin took a gap year to backpack through Australia and has since travelled to Thailand, Turkey, and Croatia.
