Summer student
Originally from Edmonton, Eric completed his undergraduate degree in kinesiology at the University of Alberta and has remained there to pursue his law degree. In school, he serves as the Special Projects Coordinator for the Environmental Law Students’ Association (“ELSA”), where he helps facilitate sustainability initiatives in and around the University of Alberta Law Centre. Eric also participates in the Civil & Family Project with Student Legal Services in Edmonton, working alongside peers to provide legal assistance to low-income individuals. In addition, he is a member of Law FC and regularly joins the Law Run Club for group runs when his schedule allows.
Alongside his keen interests in exercise science and sports, Eric has a longstanding passion for a variety of athletic pursuits. Whether he finds himself sailing, golfing, running, hiking, or playing soccer, Eric enjoys any opportunity to venture outdoors and stay active. That said, he is equally content to unwind with a good board game or a chess match.
Outside of school, Eric has gained diverse experience across healthcare, academic, and recreational settings. Among his former roles was that of a student kinesiologist at the Edmonton Bone and Joint Centre, where he assisted various medical professionals in the provision of pre- and post-operative care. He also spent time as a student research assistant during his undergraduate degree, examining the effectiveness of competing approaches to movement skill acquisition. More recently, he has been grateful to spend several summers working at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club in their member services department.
Eric maintains an active role in his community through his involvement with Edmonton Youth Justice, where he serves as a restorative justice circle volunteer, facilitating circles and supporting youth offenders in completing community-based sanctions. He also volunteers at running events, including the Running Room Games track meet.
