    • Represents individuals and companies in connection with insider trading and tipping investigations and prosecutions under the Securities Act (Alberta)
    • Represents shareholders, issuers, directors and officers in civil claims for secondary market misrepresentation, breach of shareholders' agreements, violations of securities laws and other securities-related causes of action
    • Represents bidders and targets (special committees) in contested/unsolicited takeover bids
    • Represents shareholders, issuers, directors and officers in proceedings before Canadian securities commissions
    • Represents boards of directors and shareholders in hostile proxy contests and disputes
    • Represents companies, directors and officers, and investors in securities class actions
  • Commercial & General Litigation
    • Acts in a wide range of matters involving, among other things, class proceedings, contractual disputes, alleged misuse of confidential information, alleged breaches of trust and/or fiduciary duty, oppression remedy claims, negligence claims and economic and intentional torts such as interference with economic interest
    • Represents parties on motions to strike pleadings, summary judgment motions and interlocutory injunction motions
  • Corporate Governance
    • Provides governance advice to a diverse client base, including public and private companies, not-for-profit and charitable organizations, committees of the board of directors, and individual directors and officers
  • Regulatory
    • Represents interested parties in connection with disclosure requests under freedom-of-information legislation
    • Experience in federal and provincial regulatory matters, including under the Competition Act (Canada), Broadcasting Act (Canada), Patent Act (Canada) and Chartered Accountants Act (Ontario)
    • Experience in criminal proceedings for alleged regulatory offences, including bid-rigging and price-fixing offences under the Competition Act
