Ivana Dokic has joined BD&P as an Associate. She has advised on corporate and commercial matters, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and corporate governance. Her practice includes supporting complex corporate transactions, including large‑scale M&A and financings, managing closings, supervising due diligence processes, and advising on corporate governance and reorganizations.
Ivana completed her Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration at the University of Calgary in 2024. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Law and Society from the University of Calgary, completed in 2018.
Before joining BD&P, Ivana practiced at another large firm. Her experience includes managing closing processes for share and asset transactions, acting as the primary associate on due diligence workstreams, and coordinating transaction execution and post‑closing matters. She drafted and negotiated ancillary agreements and advised clients on corporate governance and securities law compliance, including matters involving midstream oil and gas entities.
Earlier in her career, Ivana summered and articled at another firm where she supported private M&A transactions, assisted with corporate reorganizations, and conducted legal research to support transaction teams.

Triovest Inc. in connection with the acquisition of its issued and outstanding shares by Colliers Macaulay Nicolls Inc.
Ovintiv Inc. on its approximately $2.7 billion acquisition of NuVista Energy Ltd.
Lucero Energy Corp. in connection with its approximately $222 million acquisition by Vitesse Energy, Inc.
She has also worked with dealer and underwriter syndicates on public offerings of medium‑term notes and equity financings totaling several billion dollars.
Ivana is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Calgary Bar Association, Association of Women Lawyers Calgary, and Serbian Canadian Professionals in Law. She is also involved in volunteer initiatives with the University of Calgary.
