Associate
Byung is an associate with BD&P's litigation group and completed law school at the Peter A. Allard School of Law (University of British Columbia).
At the Peter A. Allard School of Law, Byung focused his studies on litigation, advocacy, and dispute resolution, developing a strong foundation for his practice as a litigator. Prior to law school, Byung enjoyed a successful career as a high-performance tennis coach. Byung has trained several national champions, as well as many internationally-ranked junior players. In addition, Byung also served as a Faculty Lecturer for the University of Alberta, Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation, playing a large role in teaching and curriculum development.
In his free time, Byung enjoys backcountry canoeing trips. His favourite treks include Maligne Lake and Lake Minnewanka. Byung is also passionate about community gardens and food networks, and looks forward to donating fruit yields from his Mount Royal Plum and Romeo Cherry trees every summer.
Byung is committed to volunteering for the Pro Bono Law Alberta King's Bench Court Assistance Program which provides legal assistance to underserved members of the community.
Outside of his legal practice, Byung devotes time to mentoring and coaching youth from disadvantaged backgrounds through volunteer tennis programs.
