Stuart's focus is on energy, including:

  • Serving as counsel to domestic, international and institutional oil and gas clients in numerous acquisitions, mergers and financing in the resource sector
  • Acting for a range of major, intermediate and junior companies in a variety of purchases, swaps, dispositions and joint ventures in a full range and variety of asset and share transactions involving assets throughout Western Canada
  • Representing and advising energy producer and service industry clients in various aspects of operational, regulatory and business matters.

Stuart also is an instructor for the following:

Counsel to Progress in the $1.1 billion sale of 50% working interest in Montney shale assets in Foothills of north eastern British Columbia to PETRONAS, the Malaysian national oil company, and the formation of an upstream joint venture to develop the gas assets as well as a downstream LNG Export Project Joint Venture pursuant to which they plan to build and operate a major LNG export facility.
