Experience
Sarah Vooys graduated from the University of Dalhousie Faculty of Law in 2022. In law school she volunteered for Dalhousie Legal Aid in their tenants’ rights program. Outside of school she was active in the ultimate frisbee and circus communities. She also volunteered with refugees in Halifax, where she worked with middle-school children on their reading and writing skills. In summer 2021, she was an intern with CCLISAR—Canadian Centre for Legal Innovation in Sexual Assault Response.
Prior to law school, Sarah completed a BA and an MA in philosophy at the University of Calgary, after which she published a paper on the philosophy of money. During her degrees and for two subsequent years, she worked as an instructor and guide in canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and mountain biking.
Upon returning to Calgary and reuniting with the mountains, Sarah has spent her free time adventuring in the wilderness, swimming in glacial lakes and rivers, and convincing others to join her in her ultimate frisbee and circus pursuits.
